we are only 12 miles from skipton if you would like to combine retail therapy with walking in the country side..there is so much to do in the dales from walking, biking or even bring a rod and go fishing day tickets are available for malham tarn and for some of the rivers near by.

Dinner is also available to you tuesday to saturday evening. even if you are not staying with us at river house dinner is available to non residents. just ring to book a table we served dinner 7.00pm  to 7.30pm.

During late winter/ spring,  the Dales are just as beautiful, the hills and walks are less crowded with visitors, so you can enjoy the country side, towns and villages even more.

Watch the working people of the beautiful dales in the 2nd series of the Dales on ITV this spring.

following the lives of different people working and living in the Yorkshire Dales and show cases there communities.

One of the  Episode Characters: is our very own local  16 year old boy farmer William Wildman.

The new 12-part series will see Bradford-born Adrian Edmondson return to his roots to tell the stories behind a summer in the Yorkshire Dales.

The Dales will follow on from the hugely successful series The Lakes fronted by Rory McGrath. The series has regularly pulled in over 4m viewers and after the first episode alone, one hotel saw a massive increase in hits on its website as well as taking bookings for weddings from viewers.

only 6 mile from settle 20min in the car, or 30min to skipton rail way station.

 malham is the ideal village to stay in if you wish to go on the settle to carlisle rail way. Train's run hourly from settle up to carlisle

Extend your day trip by getting on and off, exploring lovely villages horton in ribblesdale, or Kirkby stephen or even Appleby, on the way up to carlisle. some trains do not stop at all stations on every trip.
